See that beautiful big curvaceous woman up there? That's Sasha and she's our founder.

Sasha was a member of various BBW (Big Beautiful Women) social groups since 1998. Sasha has always been one to have fun wherever she went because she brought the fun with her. She rarely does not have fun wherever she goes. Although she had fun at all of the group functions, she had to force herself to get to know people. Some were friendly and some were "cliqued" up. They knew each other from the online groups and with some, if you didn't know them.....you were excluded. Also, she as she looked around she saw how some people were just too shy and were having a miserable time. She knew something was missing.

There were several other online-based BBW groups in the Atlanta area. But even at those dances she still saw and felt the cliques. So, she never really felt truly comfortable. So, she was determined to form a Plus-Size community that would treat others the way she wanted everyone to be treated. She wanted one that would welcome every with open arms no matter if you are online or not. She wanted this community to include all of the Atlanta and South Eastern states and not just online. Although it was difficult, in November 2006, Club 249 was born. After much blood, sweat and tears searching and working, her debut party was in March of 2007. It was a huge success! People saw that you don't have to be in the "in-crowd" to have fun. Because Club 249 is NOT an online based society, the cliques you would normally see within the BBW community, you won't see them here.

At that debut party in March of 2007, Sasha introduced Southern Atlanta to The Big Girl's World by throwing a party in College Park, GA. She envision a place "where big girls make it do what it do"....thus the motto. She has big dreams for this social club to become the biggest Curvy Girl/BBW/BHM club ever!! There are so many things in store for everyone! Just keep your eyes peeled and you will love what's in store for us.

Her goal now, as always, is to provide a fun, safe, comfortable community and support for the Big Girl's World. Her goal is to reach FAR BEYOND the online community and that is a big priority for her. When asked what sets her apart from the other Atlanta BBW groups, she simply states...."249 is NOT an online group. Although we have an online forum, we do NOT rely on that to find the fun BBWs, BHMs, and the people that love us. We are a place in real time, with real people to gather and be themselves. There is no other place in Atlanta where you can find the wonderful Curvy Girls and men that attend the 249! Basically imagine a regular night club. Now fill that night club up with curvy girls and men. That's our goal, we will not be an online group with meet-n-greets or parties. We want to start a real life BBW community in Atlanta, and we are well on our way!"

Sasha is dedicated to promoting events for the Big Girl's World...where they can get away from criticism and just have a good time partying and mingling.....somewhere to be comfortable with who they are and the skin they are in. She wants to show others that being a big girl is not a bad thing as long as they have a positive outlook on life and feel good about themselves.
